Cheeseburger


Happy national Cheeseburger day! I thought today would be the perfect day to share my super simple yet delicious burger recipe with you.


Ingredients:

Patty:

450g lean ground beef

1/2 tsp dried basil

1/8 tsp garlic powder

1 Tbsp powdered parmesan

2 Tbsp onion, minced

1 tsp salt


Desired toppings of choice

lettuce & tomato

Cheddar cheese

Mayo, mustard, ketchup, relish

Whole wheat bun


Servings: 3 large burger patties


Preheat oven to 375˙F.


In a mixing bowl combine all ingredients for patty. Form into 3 equal balls and press down into patty shapes. This makes 3 nice sized burger patties. I like to lightly season the outside of the patty with salt & pepper before cooking. Heat frying pan on high with small amount of oil. Sear each side of patties until golden brown and slightly shared. Once seared place onto foil wrapped baking sheet. Since they are slightly thicker patties bake for about 15 minutes until centre is cooked. Remove from oven and place cheese slices, place back into oven for 2 minutes until cheese has fully melted.


While burgers are in the oven, lightly toast buns in oven until warm. Top with desired toppings. Once cheese has melted onto patty place onto bun and enjoy!

Notes:

For cooking: If you have a bbq, I would highly suggest using that instead. You will get a much nicer taste. That is only if you have one.


This recipe you can easily make a double batch and freeze patties for future use. Lay out patties onto parchment lined baking sheet in freezer until frozen. Then wrap individually for convenience once individually frozen.
