Okanagan Fruit & Wine

Updated: Jul 22

Who else loves fresh fruit? Fruit is one of my favourite things about summer. So many wonderful recipes you can make with fruit. If you have been to the Okanagan you know what I am talking about. You should add this road trip to your bucketlist adventures.

We traveled from Vancouver and Stayed 3 nights in Osoyoos, right in town. There is so much around the area to do, beautiful lake, lookout points, wineries and orchards. If you travel to this area you must do at least one or two wine tastings. You have so many options. The drive along Highway 97 between Osoyoos and Oliver is beautiful everywhere you look you will see Vineyards. This trip we visited LaStella Winery, Road 13, Burrowing Owl and Platinum bench. LaStella is located in the Osoyoos area and had a beautiful patio over looking the lake. Our favourite wine was the Moscato D'Osoyoos, we bought 2 bottles! If you check out Platinum bench try some of their bread, you wont regret it. Burrowing Owl was also very spectacular, for every tasting fee, they donate it to preserving the endangered species of the burrowing owl.

We were lucky to have timed our trip for the first day of peach season. On our drive in to Osoyoos we noticed that Keremeos had tons of fruit markets, all of that had amazing prices. We did look around Osoyoos for some fruit but nothing seemed as nice as the fruit in Keremeos. I would highly recommend making a stop there. We ended up stopping on our way home to grab a bunch of fruit.

I will be doing tons of recipes featuring all of this fresh fruit in the upcoming weeks. So stay tuned for some awesome fresh recipes!
